Climate
Alaska is at its best when visited during the summer months from May to September, when the weather is mild and the days lengthier. Temperatures range from 13 to 25 °C on average around this time, with far greater daylight hours than during the winter months. Wildlife patterns can also dictate the best time to visit. Alaska’s iconic salmon spawning generally begins in June time, with whale spotting opportunities at their best during July and August. Visitors can catch a glimpse of different species of bears from June through to August too, when the mating season begins.
