A beach for every occasion

Despite its small size, Anguilla is graced with over 33 stunning beaches, all have public access but with so many they remain uncrowded and unspoilt.

For lively atmosphere with dancing, parties and boat-racing head for the ambient village beach of Sandy Ground. For ocean views served with cooling drinks try a Pina Colada in one of the colourful beach bars at Shoal Bay; Tropical Sunsets at the western end of the bay make arguably the best on the island.

Seeking some ‘you & me’ time? Then try the romantic cove at Little Bay are worth a visit or take in the stunning sunset from the coral cliffs at Crocus Bay.

On the water...

There’s opportunities for sailing year-round in Anguilla with regattas and races that have locals and visitors alike competing. The most spectacular races attracting the ‘big guns’, the big crowds and a festive atmosphere are on the first Monday in August, Easter Monday and Anguilla Day (May 30).

For those with the urge to be on the water but may be sailing novices, day cruising is one of the best ways to experience Anguilla. Trips can be taken to many of the outer cays including Prickly Pear, one of the top offshore beaches and Dog Island, a firm favourite with divers.

Caribbean cuisine

With an award-winning culinary scene, Anguilla holds itself in high regard when it comes to dining.

Ranging from sophisticated fine-dining restaurants and casual bistros to modest yet tantalising roadside barbeques, food is a central component of the Anguillan experience. A favourite spot is Veya, one of the most picturesque restaurants on the island, with its quirky treehouse setting.

Wine connoisseurs are also in for a treat with access to two of the region’s largest wine cellars. Malliouhana’s iconic wine cellar has a collection of over 25,000 bottles, tours are available and are guided by the resort’s Sommelier. Le Dome at Koal Keels cellar is also home to thousands of bottles and is available for private dining and tastings.
