Overview

Some 300 years ago, a Neapolitan ferry captain by the name of Gianluigi Aponte and his Swiss sweetheart whom he met on one of his crossings had the dream of capturing the beauty of the world by sea. Four centuries later, that dream is shared by thousands across the globe; in 2023, Explora Journeys, a new luxury cruise line from MSC, will embark on a journey to redefine everything you thought you knew about luxury cruising. Fuelled by its heritage of sea-faring expertise, Explora Journeys is setting out to be a vessel through which one can discover their love of life as they embrace new destinations and create lifelong memories.

Dream

Explora Journeys pride themselves on creating a true ‘home at sea’ for their guests. Explora suites vary in size and spec but are consistent in achieving the same serenity and spaciousness one searches for at sea. In an Ocean Suite, floor-to-ceiling windows work in tandem with a bright, ocean-chic decor to create a bright, uplifting ambience while still retaining all the cosiness and comfort needed to relax after a rewarding day of exploration. An Ocean Penthouse takes this one step further by incorporating larger suites, dining areas and an expansive terrace.

Eat

Explora’s culinary vision is simple: to let guests travel the world, and taste it too. Using local, sustainable ingredients, Explora Journey’s nine distinct dining venues create a gastronomy scene that is worldly and authentic. Anthology is a celebration of culinary excellence, introducing oeuvres of some of the most talented chefs in the world while Sakura is a sophisticated eatery serving Pan-Asian cuisine. Elevating fine dining even further is Marble & Co. Grill, a European steakhouse experience and Fil Rouge, an elegant French-inspired restaurant where high-art and fine wines are de rigueur.

Creating memories that last a lifetime is what Explora Journeys is all about. A number of entertainment experiences are available on board including a calendar of live music, whiskey and mixology and even music masterclasses with resident artists who share their expertise in song writing, improvisation and composition. Guests can also learn to capture the perfect sunset with a professional photographer.

If there is a better way to start the day than a mindful ocean meditation led by a skilled instructor and the sage sounds of the sea, then we would love to know! Welcome each day in and all it has to offer with a blend of local cultural practices and soothing stories about the day’s destination. Explora fleets also boasts an enviable spa experience where an Ocean State of Mind usurps any notion of stress or tension one may have held previously. A number of rituals, facial and body treatments and facilities including hydrotherapy pools and Finnish saunas bring clarity to both mind and body.
