In the centre of Cheow Larn Lake, the Rainforest Camp is one of the only floating tented camps in the world and boasts stunning views of the surrounding rainforest and limestone mountains. Powered by wind and solar energy and using responsible waste management, this camp is designed to be at one with nature. This is one of the most unique and responsible ways to experience the beauty of southern Thailand’s endangered rainforest habitat.

Eat

The main area at of each camp consists of a semi-open-air restaurant and a well-stocked bar. Each meal offers a selection of international and local dishes all served in a buffet style format. In the evening, discover the secrets of the traditional Thai kitchen at the cooking demonstration as one of the experienced chefs shows guests how to create a famous Thai dish.

After an exciting day, sip on an ice cold beer or a freshly prepared piña colada at the Jungle Explorer’s Bar while exchanging travel tales with other guests.

Additionally the Elephant Camp is also home to a local herb garden, growing plants like pineapple, papaya, peppers, chilies and much more.

Play

The Elephant Hills Elephant Experience offers an interactive and respectful way to interact with these fascinating animals.

As part of each soft adventure tour package, guests will watch the elephants enjoy an extensive bath in the giant mud pool and then use coconut fibers to scrub these gentle giants clean again. Guests are able to participate in food preparation of their daily meals where the food will then be placed at designated feeding stations within the elephants' free roaming area and guests can then observe them eat, play and graze in their natural environment.

The most popular tour, the three day/two night Jungle Lake Safari Tour, allows guests to experience both the Elephant Camp and the Rainforest Camp and a whole lot more! Begin the adventure with an elephant experience before canoeing down the Sok River and enjoying evening dance performances and cooking demonstrations, then stay overnight in the Elephant Camp.

On day two transfer to the unbelievable tranquility of the Rainforest Camp – a true escape from the modern world. Guests will visit a local market, enjoy a sightseeing trip in a traditional longtail boat and a guided canoe safari before spending the night in a floating tent in the unique Rainforest Camp. Before leaving on day three, guests will also trek through southern Thailand’s unique rainforest on foot.

Family

Children over the age of four are more than welcome at the camp and the Family Jungle Safari Tour has been created with families in mind. Stay for one or two nights in the Elephant Camp and enjoy all of the activities on offer – elephant experiences, canoeing, jungle lake explorations and rainforest walks. Every day is different and there’s always something new to explore.
