The Palace of Knossos was once the capital of Minoan Crete and is the island’s most extensive and important archaeological site. After being destroyed and rebuilt several times during its history, extensive excavation and restoration of the site took place in the early 20th century and continues today, allowing visitors a unique insight into the Minoan civilisation through its remains.

Sip a drink in cosmopolitan Agios Nikolaos

The seaside resort of Agios Nikolaos is characterful by day and lively by night.
