Day 1 - 2
Enjoy a one night pre cruise stay at the Kimpton De Witt Amsterdam before beginning your luxury river cruise. This hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam offering guests the perfect base to explore the city. Amsterdam is famous for its stunning canals, rich culture and lively arts scene. Visit the many historical landmarks including Anne Frank’s House, Rijksmuseum, and the Van Gogh Museum. The city also features numerous theatres and galleries and the surrounding countryside provides several biking and walking trails. Your cruise will depart from Amsterdam on day 2 at 10.30pm.
Day 3
The first stop on your luxury river cruise is Enkhuizen, a charming town located in the northern part of the Netherlands. Visit the town historical landmarks including the Drommedaris, the Zuiderkerk, and the Westerkerk. For those who love the outdoors don’t miss a kayaking experience on the nearby Usselmeer. At 1pm your cruise will depart Enkhuizen and travel onward to Lelystad where your cruise will dock from 4pm to 7pm. Lelystad is located in the central part of the Netherlands and is known for its innovative architecture, scenic location, and rich natural heritage. Visit one of the city’s museums and galleries including the Nieuw Land Erfgoedcentrum where visitors can learn about the region’s history and heritage. Shopping lovers must visit Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet which features 150 shops.
Day 4
Next your cruise will dock in Arnhem, a historic city located in the eastern part of the Netherlands. This city is known for its beautiful architecture, rich cultural heritage, and its scenic location along the River Rhine. Spend the day exploring all this city has to offer including the John Frost Bridge, the Eusebius Church, and the Museum Arnhem.
Day 5
Today your cruise will dock in Düsseldorf, a vibrant and modern city in western Germany. Wander through the historic Old Town which features many well preserved buildings from the Middle Ages including the St. Lambertus Church and the Schlossturm. The city is also home to multiple musuems and galleries in addition to numerous high end boutiques and designer stores.
Day 6
The next stop on this cruising adventure is Nijmegen, a city in the eastern part of the Netherlands. This city is home to numerous festivals throughout the year including the Four Days Marches, the largest walking event in the world. Spend the day visiting the impressive ancient church St. Stevenskerk or going shopping in the Molenstraat district. Also not to be missed is a visit to Kronenburgerpark, a park in the centre of the city which is home to more than 150 different tree species in addition to part of the city wall being preserved within the park.
Day 7
Next your cruise will dock in Maastricht, a charming city located along the Meuse River in the southern part of the Netherlands. This city is famous for its cuisine, with its many restaurants and cafes offering local delicacies such as Limburgse vlaai, a type of fruit pie. Visit the St Servatius Bridge, the oldest bridge in the Netherlands which is still standing or visit the Basilica of Our Lady, an impressive Romanesque church.
Day 8
The next stop is Antwerp, a historic port city in Belgium. Wander through the cobbled lanes which are dotted with numerous cafes. Spend your day shopping for antiques in Kloosterstraat, visit the Middelheim Open Air Sculpture Museum which features 30 hectares of world-class statues and conceptual art, or visit the Red Star Line Museum where you will learn about the path of the emigrants.
Day 9 - 10
Dock in Brussels, the capital city of Belgium. This city features a spectacular square, the Grand Place. This central square is surrounded by the city’s towering town hall, ornate guildhalls, and the breadhouse which is home to the Museum of the City of Brussels. The Grand Place is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with most of the buildings dating back to the late 1600s. A must see when in Brussels is the famous Manneken Pis, a statue made in 1619.
Day 11
Today your cruise will dock at Gent, one of Belgium’s oldest cities. Visit the Gravensteen, a medieval castle which was built in 1180, or admire the stunning architecture of St Michael’s Bridge. Another must is a trip to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ghent Belfry. Climb to the top of this tower for magnificent views over the city and listen to the magical chiming sound of the carillon.
Day 12
This morning your cruise will dock in Middelburg, a historic town situated in the southwestern part of the Netherlands. This town features historic canal side houses and twisting alleyways and a spectacular late Gothic town hall. Climb the 207 steps of the ‘Large Jan’ abbey tower where you will be rewarded with a stunning view of the town. Your cruise will depart Middelburg at 12pm where you will travel onward to Veere, a small town in the southwestern part of the Netherlands. This town is known for its beautiful sea views, historic landmarks, and scenic location. Be sure to explore the town’s historic centre which features numerous well-preserved buildings from the Middle Ages, such as the Grote Kerk and the Town Hall.
Day 13
This morning your cruise will dock in Willemstad, Netherlands. Spend the morning visiting the town’s historic landmarks including the Fortifications of Willemstad and the Mauritshuis. Your cruise will then set sail and dock in Dordrecht, the oldest city in the Netherlands. This city is full of picturesque alleys, a beautiful historical centre and more than 1000 monuments. In the late afternoon board your cruise where you will travel to Rotterdam for your final stop of the day. Rotterdam is the second largest city in the Netherlands and is located on the River Meuse. Visit the Euromast observation tower where you can marvel at the city’s impressive skyline.
Day 14
Your cruise will end back in Amsterdam where you will transfer to the airport for your flight home.
