place DAY 1 - Pretoria

Pretoria

Arrive at the Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria a minimum of one hour prior to departure. You may wish to arrive earlier to visit the Rovos museum or take a site tour of the station. Depart at 11am and begin your journey travelling across the goldfields of Witwatersand and the broad grassland plains of the Highveld.

place DAY 2 - Kimberley

Kimberley

Enjoy a hot breakfast made to order in the dining cars while the train makes its way to Kimberley. Disembark the train in the afternoon to take a tour of Kimberley’s Diamond Mine Museum and the Big Hole.

place DAY 3 - Matjiesfontein

Matjiesfontein

This morning the train travels through Karoo, a vest semi-desert region that was once an enormous island sea. After lunch, take the opportunity to enjoy a guided 5km walk into Majiesfontein. Stroll through the Victorian village and visit the museum and collection of historic cars and railway carriages.

Cape Town

This morning the train travels through the Hex River Valley before reaching its final destination, Cape Town.
