Arrive in Cairns collect your hire car and journey inland to the lush Atherland Tablelands, where cooler temperatures, rolling hills, rainforest and farmland contrast with the tropical coast. Explore the scenic Waterfall Circuit and charming Yungaburra, visit the remarkable Curtain Fig Tree and look for wildlife along Peterson Creek. Discover Lake Eacham and Lake Barrine in Crater Lakes National Park and sample regional produce at Gallo Dairyland or Nerada Tea Plantation.

Travel the scenic drive from Rose Gums to Thala Beach Nature Reserve, located on a private headland between Cairns and Port Douglas. Along the way the scenery will change from farmland and rainforest to palm-fringed beacges and Coral Sea views.

Your Great Barrier Reef adventure starts with an early departure from Port Douglas Marina, enjoy an authentic sailing experience, following the coastline and views of the Daintree mountains.

Once at the protected sites at the Coral Cays, snorkel over the pristine coral reef with a qualified marine biologist offering reef interpretation on a guided snorkel tour. Premium reef sites showcase abundant marine life, including encounters with turtles and an amazing display of giant clam gardens, beautiful corals and a wide variety of fish. A tropical buffet lunch, morning and afternoon teas and coffees will compliment a day of adventure and relaxation.

Immerse yourself in a rainforest experience like no other, start the day at Mossman Gorge with a traditional Kuku Yalanji smoking ceremony where you’ll be cleansed of bad spirits and have traditional rainforest body paint applied. Exploring the Daintree National Park at an easy pace, this interpretive walk, will leave you with a deeper understanding of this breathtaking rainforest.

After a well earned lunch, travel to a secret location on the Mossman River for a one of a kind River Drift Snorkelling tour; searching for turtles, water dragons and the elusive platypus. A Daintree adventure not to be missed!

Palm Cove

Drive south to Palm Cove, a small beachside village centred around an esplanade lined with 500-year-old melaleuca trees. Your accommodation for the next three nights is a charming colonial beach house built in 1958. Relax in the adult’s only pool, revive with yoga, aqua aerobics and cocktail making classes or rejuvenate in the Reef House Day Spa. Finish your day with complimentary drinks and canapés served in the Brigadier’s lounge before dining under the stars in the awarded Reef House restaurant.
