Experience the highlights of New South Wales on this self-drive itinerary. Start off with three nights in Sydney before picking up your car hire and driving to the magnificent Blue Mountains, then head to Australia’s oldest and best known wine region, Hunter Valley. Spend two nights at the beautiful Pretty Beach House in Bouddi Peninsula before ending your New South Wales adventure back in Sydney.

place DAYS 1 - 3 - Sydney

Sydney

On arrival in Sydney you will be transferred to your hotel for a three night stay. Spend the next couple of days exploring Australia’s largest and most famous city. Join a half day city sights tour where you’ll visit the historic Rocks area, enjoy magnificent views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge and travel to famous Bondi Beach. The following day cruise around Sydney Harbour and discover iconic landmarks during the amazing colour changes at sunset.

place DAYS 4 - 5 - Blue Mountains

Blue Mountains

Collect your hire car and drive just over an hour to the Blue Mountains. Stretching over one million hectares, this region is a diverse mix of rainforest, blue-hazed valleys, canyons, and forests. Check into your hotel, Spicers Sangoma is an intimate and luxurious bush camp and the experiences available range from calming and restful with forays into wine and watercolour painting classes, eco printing works shops and chocolate, cheese, and wine pairing, to adrenalin fuelled adventures including private abseiling, rock climbing and canyoning. The next day is at your leisure to explore some of the park’s heritage tracks and lookouts.

place DAY 6 - Hunter Valley

Hunter Valley

Take a scenic three and a half hour drive through New South Wales to Hunter Valley, Australia’s oldest wine region surrounded by untouched natural landscape and beautiful scenery. Taste the region’s finest wines in the cellar doors, whilst learning what makes Hunter Valley distinct and unique. Daily activities include borrowing the guesthouse’s bikes and cycling through the undulating landscape, sampling fine wines at nearby wineries or simply relaxing by the sparkling pool and watching the local family of kangaroo play in the fields. Nearby wineries include Piggs Peake Winery, Tintilla Estate Vineyard and Olive Grove and Mistletoe Wines.

place DAYS 7 - 8 - Bouddi Peninsula

Bouddi Peninsula

Travel down New South Wales coast until you arrive at Bouddi Peninsula. Surrounded by the iconic scent of wild eucalypts, ancient angophoras and with tantalising views of the bay beyond, Pretty Beach is incredibly special.

Sydney

Drive back to Sydney to drop off your car hire, transfer to the airport for your flight home or continue your onward journey
