Arrive into Phnom Penh and spend your first day taking in the bustling city or relaxing within the comforts of your hotel.

Receive a warm welcome aboard Aqua Mekong over custom sundowners like the Salted Watermelon Crush with Thai basil to celebrate the onward journey towards the heart of the mighty Mekong River with a Khmer Apsara performance, an indigenous tradition memorialized on the temple walls of Angkor Wat.​

Say ‘Good Morning, Vietnam’ while crossing the border and sailing towards Tan Chau. Here, you’ll visit the vibrant border town of Chau Doc to take the local rickshaw, called xe loi, for a trip around the town and market. Head off by van to Long Son Pagoda for a panoramic view atop Sam Mountain. Ask the monks about their age-old Mahayana Buddhist practices before returning via the bustling morning market. Optional 18-kilometer bike ride on Long Khanh Island to see paddy fields and get a snippet of local life. ​In the afternoon, visit a typical Mekong Delta village called My An Hung where you will walk through verdant plantations. Be invited to a local's home to taste local fruits while hearing traditional folk songs performed by villagers, followed by a unique Unicorn dance. A 17-kilometer biking option is also available for those who wish to explore the countryside on wheels.

Begin the day at Binh Thanh mat weaving village to bike through local markets, fruit plantations, and fish farms. You can also take it slow and opt to visit Sa Dec where you will peruse the vibrant markets with the head chef, along with a visit to the Lover House and Kien An Cung. Afterwards, return to Aqua Mekong for a cooking demonstration followed by a scrumptious lunch.​ Continue downstream to Cai Be and board a local sampan to Tan Phong Island, where you’ll visit a fruit garden, savouring local fruits along the way. Here, you can pick your mode of adventure from a short 8-kilometer trail around the island, to a kayak through a small canal, or a relaxing walk through the community for a closer look at local life.

After a hearty breakfast, you will bid farewell to the Aqua Mekong. En route to Ho Chi Minh, you will stop at Vinh Tranf Pagoda, one of the largest Mahayana Buddhist temples in the region. Once you've arrived at your hotel, you'll find a vibrant luxury retreat in the heart of this bustling city.

Explore the city, including Dong Khoi Street and the ornate Saigon Opera House. Stroll through 30 April Park to its most famous landmark - Reunification Palace - with its basement ‘war rooms’. In the evening, take an exhilarating, culinary scooter tour. Ride through city streets and experience the best Saigonese cuisine, including an exquisite seafood dinner. Finish the evening at the city’s night markets with a taste of Saigon’s coconut ice cream.

The following morning, visit Cu Chi and its rugged grounds. Learn about the intricate, underground network of tunnels created by locals during the war. Experience them with a crawl underground (optional). Above ground, discover how the residents defended themselves with bamboo traps and camouflaged pits.

On your last full day in the city your morning will start with a discovery of the caffeine habits of the locals and the significance of coffee drinking in Vietnamese culture. Stroll through a buzzing local residential area and visit a 90 year old coffee shop and get to know the unique way of making coffee while listening to tales related to this trade.

Ho Chi Minh City - Mui Ne

Leave the city for a three-hour drive to Phan Thiet with its arid terrain, cactus plants and exotic dragon fruit trees. Arrive late morning and check into the resort before relaxing by the pool or on the beach.

Mui Ne

Spend time enjoying leisure activities in the area include golf, surfing, bodyboarding and kitesurfing. Or, travel beyond the hotel to experience some of the local culture, perhaps visit the city of Phan Thiet or take a trip to the sand dunes in Vietnam’s ‘mini Sahara’.
