Chalets at Mark’s Camp have an authentic feel, their stone and thatch construction fitting in seamlessly with the natural surroundings. A raised wooden verandah outside each reveals serene vistas across the reserve, while inside, the space is warm and inviting, boasting stylish furnishings and a chic bathroom complete with twin vanities and a walk-in shower. Four of the chalets are ideal for couples or small families, sleeping two adults and one child aged seven or younger, while the remaining accommodations are suited to larger families, with spacious interiors and partitioned sleeping areas offering added privacy.

Eat

From hearty al fresco brunches to atmospheric evenings in the elegant dining room or by the warming flames of the lodge’s covered outdoor boma, the delicious meals are infused with authentic African flair. After ordering a drink at the well-stocked bar, guests can retire to the cosy lounge, where comfortable sofas offer the perfect place to relax while reliving the thrilling adventures of the day.

Guests can search for the Big 5 in 10,500 hectares of conservation land, traversing the wilds in open-sided safari vehicles with expert rangers on the lookout for lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard, along with other impressive predators such as cheetah, hyena, jackal, and lynx. And with an abundance of plains game too, including zebras and impalas, the reserve promises a rich and rewarding wildlife experience around every corner. Walking safaris offer exhilarating encounters with iconic species, while soft walking safaris allow even children to experience the excitement, offering the chance to get close to animals in a 2000-hectare predator-free part of the reserve.

Family

At Mark’s Camp, young guests can enjoy the full safari experience just as much as their parents. Children aged two and older can explore the malaria-free reserve on game drives, sharing a vehicle with other families with children of a similar age to ensure everyone gets the most out of the adventure. Soft walking safaris offer a unique opportunity for families to enjoy up-close views of zebra, giraffe, warthog, and antelope in the safety of a predator and Big 5-free part of the reserve. Even the littlest guests, aged under two years, don’t miss out - while they can’t join in with the safari activities in the reserve, they’ll have plenty of fun with the team at the lodge, from arts and crafts to bush skills and African storytelling.

The lodge’s accommodations are ideal for families of all sizes and kids are thoughtfully catered for during meals in the elegant dining area or around the boma.
