A short stroll or bicycle ride on weathered timber jetties leads guests to the Lagoon Water Villas and Ocean Water Villas, over water havens with direct access to the sea, an overwater netting hammock and stunning views of the Indian Ocean.

With sunrise or sunset vistas, Laamu Water Villas boast uninterrupted ocean views from private hideaways. These villas feature a glass overwater bathtub and outdoor rain shower, steps into the ocean and an overwater netting hammock. For a unique view of the island and the ocean, head to the treetop deck and watch the sunset from the comfortable seating area.

Sea breezes drift among the rustic woods under high palm-thatched roofs at the island's bars and restaurants, most set over water. Perched above the organic garden, dine privately or at the chilli table at Leaf, the resort's signature restaurant, or feast on an a la carte menu of fresh catch, grilled meats, pastas and Asian flavours at the open air Longitude restaurant.

Ice and Chocolate studio, an al fresco ice cream parlour, serves over 40 flavours of ice cream and truffles flavoured with cinnamon, green tea, lavender and mint mojito. Built over the water and on several levels, Chill Bar offers a magical mix of cocktails and sunsets, where fresh local ingredients come into their own and the drinks taste as they were originally intended.

Play

Snorkel in Laamu's coral rich house reef or surf on Ying Yang - the Maldives' most famous surf break - breaking just offshore and a surfer's dream. The crystal clear lagoon is just as inviting as it looks and provides the perfect environment for windsurfing, kayaking and stand-up paddling. Meet and eat with locals from a neighbouring island, explore uninhabited islands, go island hopping, watch a classic film in the outdoor cinema or relax on secluded sand banks on one of the many excursions offered by the resort.

Set on the beach, Six Senses Spa offers four, uniquely designed couple's treatment nests, four secluded couple's treatment pavilions and an Ayurvedic treatment pavilion, all within the island's tropical gardens.
