Sun-drenched cities and white-sand islands await along the southern coast of Spain. With everything from tourist hotspots to undiscovered gems, this itinerary will give guests a slice of the Spanish good life. After a three night pre cruise stay in Marbella, guests will board Scenic Eclispe where they will explore this stunning region for the next seven nights before ending in Barcelona with a four night post cruise stay.
Day 1 – 4
This journey will begin with a three night pre cruise stay at Nobu Hotel Marbella. Nestled amidst lush gardens, this chic hotel seamlessly blends Japanese elegance with Andalusian charm. With sleek design, indulgent accommodations, and the renowned Nobu Restaurant, guests are treated to an extraordinary culinary experience. The expansive pool, private beach, and exclusive entertainment further elevate the allure of this glamorous retreat, offering an unforgettable escape in the heart of Marbella. On day four guests will transfer to Malaga to begin their seven night luxury cruise onboard Scenic Eclipse.
Day 5
The first stop is Gibraltar. Learn all about the rich history of Gibraltar at the Gibraltar Museum, visit the Moorish Castle, or wander around the award-winning marinas. Be sure to visit the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, one of the most dramatic landforms in southern Europe. Those who climb to the top of the Rock will be rewarded with a mesmerizing view. Standing at a height of 1400 feet marvel at the African coastline, where the waters of the Atlantic meet the Mediterranean as well as a panoramic view of the city.
Day 6
The next stop is Almería, a coastal city in Spain. Spend the day relaxing at one of the beaches, discovering the range of shops on the Calle de las Tiendas, or marveling at the Cathedral of Almería, a 16th century cathedral which is the only structure of its kind in Andalusia. A trip to Almería is not complete without a visit to the incredible Alcazaba of Almeria, remarkable fortified complex.
Day 7
Today your cruise will dock in Cartagena, Spain. Wander around the Old Town which is full of character and charm and is home to a remarkable town hall and Roman Theatre or head to the town’s beautiful beach, Cala Cortina.
Day 8
The next destination is Alicante, a city in Spain home to gorgeous beaches and incredible cultural attractions. Explore the Santa Bárbara Castle, a remarkable fortress with medieval Arab origins or visit the city’s oldest church, Basilica de Santa María. Alternatively, spend the day relaxing on the one of the beautiful beaches.
Day 9
Today your cruise will dock in Ibiza. Wander around the city’s UNESCO listed fortified old town of Dalt Vila, where you will find charming cobbled streets, an elegant hilltop cathedral, and a millennium old castle, Castell de Eivissa. Of course, there are also plenty of beaches perfect for a day of relaxing.
Day 10
The next stop is Valencia, Spain’s third largest city and the city that the famous Spanish dish, paella, originated from. Visit the City of the Arts and Sciences, an impressive example of modern architecture divided into six different areas designed by Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava. Alternatively, marvel at the impressive Valencia Cathedral, shop at the boutiques in Barrio del Carmen, or indulge in some delicious tapas.
Day 11 – 15
The cruise will end in Barcelona where guests will enjoy a four night post cruise stay at Mandarin Oriental Barcelona. Guests can spend their days exploring all this exciting city has to offer. Visit the magnificent basilica Sagrada Família, wander the city’s most famous street La Rambla, marvel at the incredible views from Gaudí’s Park Güell, or relax at Barcelona’s beautiful beaches.
